Residential Asbestos Services
There are a variety of asbestos materials that can be found in homes. The most common kinds of residential asbestos materials are Vinyl Asbestos Tile ("VAT" is usually 9" width but not always), pipe insulation and "transite" asbestos shingles which are typically found on the exterior of homes. We routinely perform abatement (or removal) of asbestos materials inside homes (even when occupied) by creating a containment using plastic barriers and HEPA negative air machines in areas where abatement will take place. Our pricing covers the entire job from mobilization, to set up of containment (inside) or regulated work area (for outside work), to abatement, packaging, disposal and final air clearance by an independent lab (indoor only).
With today's technology available to most, CES can usually provide a lump sum fixed cost proposal based upon good digital photos of the area containing asbestos along with accurate measurements of the materials in question. For pipe insulation, simply measure the length of insulated pipe, count the number of fittings (or 90 degree elbows) and email that information along with wide camera shots of the work area to the email address on our contact page. Floor tile, transite siding or roofing can usually be estimated in the same way with accurate measurements and good digital photos of the work.
